Melinda Hepp is considered Blattel Communications’ media and research maven. When a new subject crosses her desk, she throws herself into it wholeheartedly and only stops when she is confident she can speak authoritatively. This approach enables her to pitch compelling stories, which has secured our clients major placements, and has also helped her cultivate relationships with members of the media becoming a “go to” person on the contact lists of many journalists seeking a good story.

A Blattel Communications account supervisor, Melinda is an expert on many topics relevant to our clients’ businesses and is considered the office sage on all things “green” and such related subjects as real estate, construction, land use and the environment. Day to day, she’s executing PR plans and campaign strategies that land our clients coverage across a wide spectrum of media – and nothing thrills her more than seeing her clients on television, in print or on the Web. Melinda makes the most of today’s almost unlimited media resources to stay on top of the news. On the print side, she counts major daily newspapers, regional business journals, and real estate and legal trade publications among her favorite resources. She also stays up-to-date via a carefully selected daily RSS feed, Associated Press, Reuters, Google Alerts, and CNN. Another Blattel Communications team member who’s skilled at social networking and media, Melinda regularly checks industry blogs and journalists’ tweets to keep ahead of news and trends.

Away From the Office

Melinda’s dog, Clyde, is second only to her husband, Ryan, when it comes to her heart. She spends her free time hiking and hanging out with both of them and also enjoys yoga, traveling, trying new restaurants and cooking. Her interest in the environment extends out of the office to her own backyard. There, she is learning to master her garden by trying her hand at growing vegetables, as well as an array of flowers and plants.
