Passionate About Great Stories
Passionate about helping professionals gain targeted and high-profile opportunities to share their great stories, Michael leads the Blattel Communications Sourcing Bureau, connecting clients to the media outlets covering the important sector trends.
Combining industry insights with media savvy, Michael Bond leads the Blattel Communications Sourcing Bureau, an innovation built to fuel client team collaboration, anticipate trending news and develop deep media relationships. Through the bureau, he tracks the industry issues important to our clients (and their clients) and connects the appropriate spokespeople to leading journalists covering those stories across all platforms – from print and broadcast to online and social.
Integrated Marketing Communications
With more than 15 years of experience in PR and legal marketing, Michael offers unique perspectives, having served as an in-house marketing generalist at firms on both coasts before joining Blattel in 2010. He’s handled everything from event management to CRM development to website administration and communications. Michael hasn’t seen it all – but close to it! With communications and media relations emerging as his specialty, Michael understands how the marcom component materially impacts business development goals and operational success for his clients.
A Measured Approach for Greater Success
Based in the Washington, D.C.-area, Michael works across client industries, geographies and time zones to help clients identify and achieve communications and media relations goals. He successfully elevates the visibility of client firms and their key spokespeople by creating effective long-tail campaigns – utilizing a mix of deliverables (press releases, blogs, award submissions, third-party byline articles and high-profile commentary). Valued by clients for responsiveness and thoughtfulness, Michael also places an emphasis on setting realistic expectations – ensuring that clients are aware of possible barriers to success and, when appropriate, offering alternative pathways to desired outcomes. Using this collaborative approach, Michael has a track record of high-level media success, garnering an impressive list of placements in trade and national outlets, including NPR, the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He has also helped clients conceptualize and launch blogs, break white papers into digestible and marketable pieces, and land guest spots on industry trade podcasts.
Michael has been instrumental in developing media-success measurement tools and reporting dashboards for Blattel clients, demonstrating how paid, earned, shared and owned media activity stacks up to similar competitors and moves the needle on achieving client goals.
