Michael Bond Senior Account Executive
With an insatiable appetite for news, Michael devours massive amounts of both traditional and new media and is constantly on the lookout for opportunities to highlight his clients, establishing and enhancing their relationships with important stakeholders, including media and their potential clients. An avid reader and writer, Michael combines his passion for the news with his writing prowess to implement strategic public relations programs that cut through the increasingly saturated media landscape to effectively, efficiently and often creatively reach the client’s target audience.
With three in-house law firm marketing department gigs under his belt, Michael applies his broad-based professional service marketing experience to the communications function, helping to develop and implement successful thought leadership programs on behalf of attorneys and other legal professionals. His dedication to the industry goes beyond the office as he is an active member of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) — Bay Area Chapter, where he is a board member. Prior to moving to the Bay Area he was also a board member for the LMA’s Metropolitan Philadelphia Chapter.
Philosophy: Even in crisis situations, remaining calm and keeping one’s composure will go a long way. Clients look to their PR consultants for counsel, and it’s critical to be able to think and communicate clearly in any circumstance, which is not possible when you’re overcome with stress. Handling even the most demanding situations with poise and calmness assures clients, as well as journalists, that the situation is under control, furthering the client relationship and trust – not to mention keeping your blood pressure in check.
In the Office
Michael stays on top of the news as he is a devoted follower of NPR, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Times in all their forms whether the print edition, podcast or Twitter feed. He is regularly in touch with the members of the media, successfully landing coverage in outlets such as the Associated Press and The Wall Street Journal. Keeping an eye on national and industry trends, Michael can be found, with coffee in hand, perusing trade publications like The National Law Journal and the Daily Journal or reviewing breaking news alerts via his Twitter account.
Away From the Office
A die-hard baseball fan, Michael is a loyal Oakland Athletics and Philadelphia Phillies supporter and can often be found streaming the games at home or listening to numerous sports analysts compare the statistics. A resident of the East Bay, he enjoys trying new neighborhood bistros, as the area is known for its progressive culinary haunts, or watching his favorite bands play at the historic Fox Theater in Oakland.
